Instructor (Nontenured Research)
Duties
The appointee will serve as the Manager of the UT Southwestern Biomolecular NMR Facility, which consists of Varian 500, 600 and 800 MHZ systems. Primary responsibilities: (1) organization, maintenance and future development of NMR resources and computers, (2) training new users, (3) implementing new NMR experiments, and (4) interacting with researchers on and off campus. Duties also include informal teaching/training new methods, NMR fundamentals and related topics and conducting research.
Requirements
Candidates should have a Ph.D. degree and postdoctoral experience in liquid-state biomolecular NMR using modern, high-field Varian NMR spectrometers including expertise with accompanying robotics. Candidates should also have expertise with multidimensional NMR data analysis software and UNIX-based workstations.

Faculty Position

This position is needed to use combination of biochemical, cell biological, and molecular biological methods to study how protein glycosylation regulation influence cell growth, cell death and cell density control.
Requirements
The position requires someone to generate mouse model of prostate cancer and study the results generated in cell in mice. Finally, this position will be the driving force behind a very important and difficult project in understanding one of the most mutated tumor suppressor, PTEN. Duties
1. Plans, coordinates, and supervises assigned research projects, which may be limited as segment of larger project, exercising responsibility for project performance and accountability for progress; and/or personally performs advanced scientific and medical research work, suggesting modifications to, or improvements in, design of research projects, presenting original ideas for follow-up studies, and recommending utilization of new or revised techniques and procedures to obtain desired results.
2. Constructs, assembles, and operates experimental or other special designed laboratory apparatus and equipment.

5. May supervise group of Research Technicians and/or Research Assistants of lower grade, making work assignments, advising on work procedures and reviewing work in process and upon completion.

Requirements
1. Master's degree with major coursework in field of assignment and
one (1) year experience as Research Assistant I or equivalent.
2. Bachelor's degree with major coursework in field of assignment and
two (2) years experience to include one (1) year as Research
Assistant I or equivalent.
3. Completion of two (2) years of college or specialized training in
histology, serology, medical technology, etc. and five (5) years
experience to include one (1) year as Research Assistant I or
equivalent.
4. High school graduation with courses in basic sciences and seven
(7) years experience to include one (1) year as Research Assistant
I or equivalent.
