Biochemistry Graphics Room

The Department of Biochemistry Graphics Room offers a wide range of photographic, graphic design, and electronic imaging and proofing services.
Wet protein gels, protein blots and DNA films can be digitally imaged. For a nominal fee*, the facility produces illustrations, slides, transparencies, and photographic digital prints. Our facility staff member also handles photographic documentation of experimental samples (data generated from DNA sequencing, NMR spectrometers, and other departmental instruments).
A wide variety of computer graphic file formats can be produced from the data (including TIFF, JPEG, EPS, PDF, GIF, and PSD). These files may be created by the client or by our facility staff. Programs and processes fully supported by the facility are Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office, and in some cases Canvas. Training is available upon request for all graphics processes used in this facility with the above mentions programs.
*A fee of $7.00/hr. will be charge for scanning projects, editing materials, or training in all the above mentions services. Clients are asked to download the PDF form and submit it in person with materials and explanation of work to be done. Scheduling can be arranges through e-mail or Ext: 83339. Ask for Carl Sidle .
